T-STEM Academy Benchmark 3: Strategic Alliances

• The T-STEM academy shall establish strategic partnerships with business and industry partners and Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) to provide students with real-world learning experiences and opportunities for career exploration.
• These partnerships shall be formally articulated in writing, and clearly define a variety of STEM careers for students to consider.
• The T-STEM academy shall have a formal agreement with Somerset Academy Brooks (f.k.a. Brooks Academy of Science and Engineering) and Alamo Colleges to collaborate and provide a T-STEM program for students.
• The academy shall have a designated point of contact, Louis Martinez, who can be reached at lmartinez775@alamo.edu, to coordinate and communicate with partners and stakeholders.
• The academy will have a plan in place to evaluate the effectiveness of the partnerships and their impact on student learning and career readiness.

Overall, the T-STEM academy will actively seek out and establish strategic partnerships with business, industry, and higher education institutions to provide students with hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to explore STEM careers. The academy will use these partnerships to enhance the educational opportunities for students and to prepare them for the workforce.
