T-STEM Academy Benchmark 2: Target Population

• The T-STEM academy shall serve, or include plans to scale up to serve, students in grades 6-12 or 9-12
• The academy shall target and enroll students who are at risk of dropping out of school as defined by the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) and who might not otherwise go to college.
• The academy shall provide opportunities for students to take courses leading to a Palo Alto College Associates of Science, a Level 1 or 2 Certification in Computer Programming, or any of the Alamo Academies Programs (https://alamoacademies.com/about-alamo-academies/) or 60 hours of college credit for transfer.
• The academy will have a clear plan for identifying and reaching out to students who are at risk of dropping out of school and who might not otherwise go to college.
• The academy will have a monitoring and evaluation system in place to measure the success of their efforts to target and enroll the intended population.

Overall, the T-STEM academy will be specifically designed to serve students who are at risk of dropping out of school and who might not otherwise go to college, providing them with opportunities to pursue higher education and increase their chances of success in the future.
